Christmas Bike Promise 2016

County Waste Donates Over 100 Bicycles to Youth

After Assembling Bicycles by Hand, Employees Distribute Bikes to Numerous Capital Region Youth Organizations

Clifton Park, New York – On December 23, 2015, employees from County Waste, a Waste Connections company, loaded up the final 40 of 148 bicycles they assembled.  The bikes were distributed to various Capital Region youth organizations. County Waste donated bicycles to 7 different nonprofits in Albany, Ballston Spa, Clifton Park, Troy, Schenectady, Nassau, and Hoosick Falls. From there, these organizations distribute the bicycles to families in need or utilize them at the organization.

County Waste and Recycling Partners with Saratoga Hospital’s Mollie Wilmot Radiation Oncology Center with “Think Pink . . . Recycle for a Cause”

County Waste and Recycling and Saratoga Hospital teamed up to raise money for Saratoga Hospital’s Mollie Wilmot Radiation Oncology Center. Customers of County Waste can receive a pink recycling can by making a tax-deductible donation of $200. County Waste will then forward the donation to the Radiation Oncology Center to benefit cancer patients.

Waste County Employees Support Toys for Tots

Since 2012, Waste County employees and vendors have joined forces to support the Albany area Toys for Tots. The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
