Albany Drive-Thru Food Pantry on June 11

A drive-through food pantry at the Albany International Airport is scheduled for Saturday, June 11, 2020 at 10AM and will run while the supplies last.
The event is open to all community members.

This event is provided by the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, Catholic Charities, Albany International Airport, and the Golf Planning Committee and Sponsors.

County Waste and Recycling has donated 600 facemasks to the event, and staff members have volunteered to work the event.

Santa’s helpers at County Waste & Recycling Clifton Park were busy building 250 bikes for deserving charities and giving them away as part of County Waste and Recycling’s annual Christmas Bike Promise.

Waste County employees met the challenge and competed in a local Tough Mudder event to support the Wounded Warrior Project. Funds raised help injured vets with combat stress recovery programs, adaptive sports programs, benefits counseling and employment services.

Waste County Employees Support Toys for Tots

Since 2012, Waste County employees and vendors have joined forces to support the Albany area Toys for Tots. The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

After Assembling Bicycles by Hand, Employees Distribute Bikes to Numerous Capital Region Youth Organizations

Clifton Park, New York – On December 23, 2015, employees from County Waste, a Waste Connections company, loaded up the final 40 of 148 bicycles they assembled.  The bikes were distributed to various Capital Region youth organizations. County Waste donated bicycles to 7 different nonprofits in Albany, Ballston Spa, Clifton Park, Troy, Schenectady, Nassau, and Hoosick Falls. From there, these organizations distribute the bicycles to families in need or utilize them at the organization.
